January marks National Blood Donor Month and is the perfect time to donate blood. In the United States, someone needs blood every two seconds (American Red Cross). Your donation to the Jefferson Blood Donation Center can provide a lifeline to individuals in our area. You’ll also receive a voucher for a FREE Wawa coffee for blood donations all month. Walk into the Blood Donation Center (111 South 10th Street, Suite 1114, Street Level) or schedule your appointment online.

Explore the library resources below for information on the history of blood donations, blood transfusions, and the “black market” of blood.

Ally Awareness Week is a weeklong celebration of Ally, the tool within Canvas that helps instructors improve course accessibility and offers learners alternative file formats to download.

The contest encourages educators to make “fixes” to their content and win prizes! There are three winning categories:

  • most fixes in a single course

  • most fixes overall

  • biggest increase in accessibility for a single course

The winners will each receive a Jefferson-branded sweatshirt. Fixes will be posted anonymously on our Fix Your Content Contest Leaderboard the week of January 13.
