Alternatives to the use of Harvard Business Review Content

Alternatives to use of the HBR online content from Business Source Premier:

1.       Print:  Find a print copy of the journal in the Current Periodicals area on the Main Floor of the Library.

2.       Contact Reserves to place an article on reserve if you want your class to have access.

3.       HBR Educator’s License:  Faculty can gain access to material like teaching notes and educators’ copies Create a coursepack  under which students get discounted access to an article in the pack.

4.       Article store: Direct students to the HBR website for purchase of individual articles.  See: http://hbr.org/store

Harvard Business Review – New Licensing Restrictions for Electronic Use

As of August 2013, Harvard Business Publishing announced new restrictions on the use of the electronic version ofHarvard Business Review  (HBR) for colleges and universities.  The full text of Harvard Business Review is available online through EBSCO’s Business Source Premier.  However, under the new restrictions, faculty are prohibited from directly linking to HBR articles from within online syllabi.   This  means that in your syllabi or on your Canvas site, you should remove any sustaining links that involve the EBSCO electronic version of Harvard Business Review. No Harvard Business Review articles from Business Source Premier may be used for course readings or assignments.

Harvard Business Review and Harvard Business Publishing Newsletter content on EBSCOhost is licensed for the private individual use of authorized EBSCOhost users.  It is not intended for use as assigned course material in academic institutions nor as corporate learning or training materials in businesses.  Academic licensees may not use this content in electronic reserves, electronic course packs, persistent linking from syllabi or by any other means of incorporating the content into course resources.
