Alternate Quiet Space

While we're eager to see what transformation the Siegman Archives will bring to the library, we know there will be some disruption to library patrons in the next seven to eight months of construction.  The inaccessibility of the library's 4th floor and construction noise will impact the availability of quiet study space and, at times, might also disrupt the 3rd and 2nd floors.

This Study Spaces Guide offers alternate buildings and rooms on the Center City campus for quiet study. In addition to the 2nd and 3rd floors of Scott, we recommend Jefferson Alumni Hall (JAH) and the Curtis building.

Minimizing Noise Disruptions

To minimize noise disruptions in the library

  • Earbuds will be available at the 2nd floor Circulation Desk
  • NOTE: We expect the most noise disruption between July and August 2023 during the demolition phase
